Part 1 ~Southampton, 1912~ A big crowd was gathered on the docks. It was an event like no other. The biggest ship in the world was about to cross the ocean. HMS Titanic. A name that made everyone dreamt.Joe looked at the ship. Impressive. He was a passenger of first class. He was coming with his dad, his aunt and his fiancée, Ashley Greene. He was waiting for his dad to register them. The air smelled the ocean and seagulls were flying in the sky. Ashley: This is wonderful. Joe: I know. Ashley: The inside is really luxurious. Joe: How do you know? We never got in. Not yet. Ashley : I saw the pictures. Even in black and white, it looks so luxurious. Joe: I guess. He knew Ashley loved money and everything which showed you were rich. Joe's dad: We can go. Ashley grabbed Joe's hand. They walked on the gateway, his dad and aunt behind them. They went in and Joe looked around. Even though it was not the most important part of the ship, it already was wealthy-looking.
~Meanwhile~ Demi looked at the ship too. It was so huge she felt dizzy. As a passenger of the lowest class, third, she had to go to a health inspection. She mentally groaned. It was not because you were poor that you carried sickness with you. The man checked her hair to see if she had lice and her teeth to detect any potential rotten part and so on. When he was satisfied, he just nodded and went to the next person. Demi turned to her friend Sally. Sally: I guess this is goodbye. She was not coming with Demi. Demi: Yeah. Sally: Don't forget about me when you get rich in America. Demi: I will never do that. You're my bestfriend. Are you sure you want to stay in England? Sally: Yes, this is my country. Demi: Mine too but oh well. Sally: You should go. The ship is leaving soon. Demi: Goodbye *she hugged her* Sally hugged back. After a couple of minutes, Demi pulled away and grabbed her two only bags. When she thought that passenger of first class had cars full of suitcases.... She walked on the getaway and went in the alleyway. It wasn't really large but hey, third class people didn't need space, right? She looked for her cabin. She found it and introduced herself to the women she would share the cabin with. Can you believe that they seperated the men and the women of third class? As if they were going to jump on each other like rabbits. However, Demi was thankful for that because she was a single girl travelling alone. Who knows what could happen? She decided to go on the deck to see the ship's departure. End of part 1
Part 2 She climbed the stairs and went on the A deck. The crowd was still there but people looked so small. Demi felt the ship moving. She waved at Sally who was somewhere down there and smiled to herself. A journey was beginning and also a new life. New York. She would be there in a week.
~Later~ Joe was in his cabin. Ashley: I told you it was luxurious! Joe: I can see that. Joe's aunt: Ashley, it's time to go get ready for dinner. Ashley: See you later *she kissed his cheek and left* Joe rolled his eyes. He wished his dad hadn't chosen Ashley. She was focused on money and he wanted a girl who could appreciate simple things. He put on a tuxedo for dinner.
~The next day~ The ship went to Cherbourg in France to take her last passengers. Then it was the ocean past the Irish coast. It was night and the dinner would be soon. Demi looked at her plate. Potatoes and beef. It was better than most meals she had. She wondered what the first class would have. She was curious about this world she didn't know. She left the crowded room and found her way to the first class dining room. Well, one of them. She heard there was more than one. Nobody was paying to her. They were busy talking and walking around. They were all dressed fancy. Demi looked at the dresses with envy. Butler: You can't be here, Miss. Demi: Oh, just a peek and I'll go. Butler: I'm sorry but that's impossible. Demi: I won't bother anyone. Butler: I said it wasn't possible. Now go away. Demi: But.... The butler roughly grabbed her arm. ???: Hey, let her go. Demi looked at the person. It was a tall dark haired man. He was handsome. Butler: Sorry, sir *he let go of Demi* ???: Would you like to take a walk with me on the deck? Demi nodded, not sure of what he wanted. They walked up the stairs and went outside. The cool air blew in her hair. Demi: Thanks, sir. ???: Please call me Joe. Demi: Well Joe, thanks for helping me. Joe: This rude man doesn't know how to treat a lady. Demi blushed lightly. Her, a lady? Demi: I'm really not. I wasn't supposed to be here. I'm a third class person. Joe: Are you a human being? Demi: *she gave him a confused look* Yes? Joe: Then you should be treated with respect. Demi: I guess. Joe took out a light and a cigarette from his pocket. He lightened the cigarette and took a puff. Demi: You're smoking? Joe: *he shrugged* I know it's a bad habit but I can't help it. Guess I shouldn't have started *he chuckled* Demi: Don't you have to go eat? End of part 2
Part 3 Joe: I'm not hungry. Demi: Oh. Joe was on his way to the dining room when he saw a young girl looking around. He knew she was not part of the first class passengers according to her clothes. The butler talked to her and suddenly he grabbed her arm tightly. He had to do something. She turned to look at him and he got drowned in her eyes. She was pretty. Really pretty. Joe: I'd rather be here in good company. Demi: I have to go *she walked away* Joe: Wait! *he grabbed her hand* Did I say something wrong? He tried to ignore the sparks he felt by holding her soft hand. Demi: *she got out of his grip* Good company? Who do you think I am? Joe: It came out wrong. I didn't mean it that way. I'm sorry. I don't even know your name.. Demi: *she calmed down* It's Demi. Joe: Demi. That's sweet. Demi: T-thanks. Joe: It's late but maybe I'll see you some other day? Demi: *she smiled* Sure. They said goodnight to each other and left. Demi went to bed thinking about her first class prince charming.
~The next day~ Lunch already passed. Joe was in the smoking room. He was playing cards with his dad and some men. He was bored. He kept thinking about Demi. He wanted to be with her right now. The trip would not last forever and who knew if he would see her again after? What am I doing here? Joe thought. Joe's dad: Son, it's your turn to play. Joe: Mmm, I don't feel too good. I'll take some fresh air *he stood up* Gentlemen *he walked away*
~With Demi~ She was in the third class common room. It was not a spectacular one. Just a few benches and tables. Kids were playing, women were talking, men were smoking, drinking, playing and talking. Demi was impressed by all the hot whisky she saw between their hands. It was like their dessert. Demi was sitting on a bench looking around the room. She tried to distract herself. All she did was thinking about Joe. How could she be so obsessed with a man she only met yesterday and barely knew? He was handsome and sweet. Lost in her thoughts, she hadn't noticed that someone sat next to her. She felt an arm sneaking around her waist. Demi: Hey! It was a man and he looked drunk. Demi: Let go of me! Man: *slurring* I want you. Demi tried to move away. He was hugging her tight and put a hand under her skirt. Demi: Please somebody helps me! The man got pulled away from her and punched. Demi looked up to see Joe. Joe: *with a crooked smile* Hey. Demi: Um, hey. Joe: Nice to see you again. Demi: How did you know how to find me? End of part 3
Part 4 Joe: I asked my way to a steward. Demi: Oh. Joe: Would you care for a walk on the deck? Demi: Sure and thanks for saving me again. Joe: Do you have the habit to be surrended by rude men? Demi: *she sighed* Guess I attract them. Joe: *he smiled* I'm here now. Let's go. They went on the A deck and walked on it. Joe: Tell me about yourself. Demi: What do you want to know? Joe: How old are you? Demi: 17. Joe: And you're travelling alone? Demi: I don't have any family. Joe: Oh, sorry. Demi: It's alright. Joe: Did you know them? Demi: No. I grew up in an orphanage. Joe: Sad. Demi: Story of my life. How old are you? Joe: 20. Demi: Such an old man. Joe: Hey! I'm just 3 years older than you! Demi giggled. Joe: It ain't funny, Missy. Demi: Actually, I think it was. Anyway, are you travelling alone too? Joe: No. I'm with my dad, my aunt and my fiancée. Fiancée? She should have known. Her heart tightened in pain. Demi: Oh, um, this is great. Joe: I guess. They walked in silence. Joe: I have an idea. Demi: About? Joe: Have dinner with me. Demi: I can't. Joe: Why not? Demi: I don't fit in the middle of a very fancy dining room. Joe: You're right. Demi looked down. Joe: This is why I have another idea. Demi: What? Joe: Follow me. They went down a staircase and along a few alleyways. They were larger so Demi guessed they were in the first class. Joe stopped in front of a cabin and opened the door. Demi went in with amazement. Joe: Aunt Molly, are you here? Aunt Molly (A/N: Yep, THE Molly Brown, I love her character): Yes. And who's this lovely lady? Joe: This is my friend Demi. Demi: Hello. Aunt Molly: Nice to meet you, dear. Joe: Is Ashley here? Aunt Molly: No, she's at the gym doing some sport. Joe: Ashley doesn't like sports? Aunt Molly: By sport, she means a ride on the fake horse. Joe chuckled. Aunt Molly: You're asking that so she won't see Demi? Joe: You got me. Aunt Molly: I know you. Joe: I need a favor. End of part 4
Part 5 Aunt Molly: What favor? Joe: She needs a dress. Aunt Molly: The one she has is fine. Joe: I know but we're having a dinner together. Aunt Molly: Ohhh... Joe: Think you can help? Aunt Molly: Yes. Joe: I'll leave you two alone. Aunt Molly: Come with me, sweetie. They went in Molly's room. Demi: You don't have to do that. Aunt Molly: But I want to. Demi: You have a dress for me? Aunt Molly: I do *she pulled it out of a closet* Demi: It's really pretty. (sorry for the space between the text and the image, ugh)
Aunt Molly: I know. Oh no, there's a hole in it. Demi: Let me look at it. Aunt Molly: Here. Demi: *she took it and looked at it* I can fix it. Aunt Molly: Really? Demi: Yes. That was my job in London. Aunt Molly: I'm going to ask the maid to bring you what you need *she walked away*
~Later~ Demi: Done. Aunt Molly: Thank you and good work. Demi smiled. Aunt Molly: I'll help you to put it on. Demi: Sure. Aunt Molly: Pull off the dress you're wearing. Demi did as told. Aunt Molly: Do you want to see yourself in a mirror? Demi: Yes. Aunt Molly: Come here. They went in front of one. Aunt Molly: Look how wonderful you are. Demi: Who does this dress belong to? Aunt Molly: My daughter. Demi: Oh and would she like me wearing it? Aunt Molly: She died last summer. Demi: I'm so sorry, I didn't know. Aunt Molly: I kept a few of her belonging and this dress is part of it. Well, let's do your hair.
~15 minutes later~ Joe knocked on the door. Aunt Molly: I'll get it. Joe: Is Demi ready? Aunt Molly: Yes. Joe: Ashley is here. Aunt Molly: It means you have to take the other door. Joe came in the room. Demi looked at him nervously. Her hair were tied in a loose bun.
Joe: You look beautiful. Demi blushed. Joe: Let's go *he linked his arm with hers* They left by the other door.
~Dining room~ Demi looked around amazed. Joe smiled looking at her. She was like a child. Demi: This is marvellous. Joe: I know. We should find a table for us. ???: Joe! End of part 5
Part 6 Joe turned around. It was Ashley. Ashley: Who is she? Joe: A friend. Ashley: And she has a name? Demi: It's Demi. Pleased to meet you. Ashley: I'm not. I'm Joe's fiancée. Demi: Oh. Joe: I'll eat with Demi alone tonight, Ashley. Ashley: *fake smile* Why don't you join us? Joe: Because... Ashley: Because nothing. Come here *she walked away* Joe: *he sighed* I'm sorry. Demi: It's alright. Joe: Are you ready for this? Demi: For what? Joe: My world. Demi: I don't know. Joe: We don't have much of a choice. They went to a big table. Joe's dad: Joe, you're here. Joe: Yes. Everyone, let me introduce a friend of mine, Demi. A few people said "Hello". Joe: I hope you don't mind if she joins us. Ashley: Not at all. Sit. Jemi sat next to each other. The waiters started to give the food. Demi looked at the plate in front of her. Definatly better than potatoes and beef. Joe: The food won't eat you. It's the opposite. Demi: I know. I was admiring it. I never saw something which looked so tasty. Joe: Take a bite. Demi did as told. Joe watched her as her face lightened up and her eyes widened a little in pleasure. Joe: What do you think? Demi: I think this is delicious. Ashley: What's so special about it? I eat that kind of food everyday. Demi: I don't. Ashley: How so? Demi: I'm a third class person. Ashley: Then what are you doing here? Joe: I invited her. Ashley: Why? Joe: Ashley, stop please. Your questions are making her uncomfortable. Ashley: *fake smile* Sorry, I didn't mean to.
~After dinner~ Joe's dad: Joe, we need to talk. Joe: Now? Joe's dad: Yes and in private. Joe: *to Demi* I'll be back. They walked away. Joe's dad: Who Demi really is for you? Joe: I said she was a friend. Joe's dad: But you want to be more. Joe looked away. Joe's dad: She's third class. Joe: I know. Joe's dad: You also know how the world works. You'll never be able to marry her. End of part 6
Part 7 Joe: And why not? Joe's dad: You're engaged already. Joe: Engagements can be broken. Joe's dad: If Demi was part of our world, I would say so but this is not the case. Joe: This is not fair. Joe's dad: You'll get used to it. Marry Ashley or I won't make a deal with her family. Joe: I want Demi. Joe's dad: It's fine. Make her your mistress. That's all she can expect from you *he walked away* Joe looked over at the table. He respected Demi too much for that. He walked back there. Demi: Is everything fine? Joe: Yes. Let me walk you to your cabin. Demi nodded. Aunt Molly: Be careful. Joe: I will. Demi and Joe left. Demi: Can we go on the deck first? Joe: Of course. They went there. Demi: I like it. It's so peaceful. Joe: I feel like nothing can reach me. Demi: Same. Joe: I don't really like my life. Demi: Why? You have everything. Joe: I have wealth but I don't have love. My wedding with Ashley will just be a contract of my father. Demi: Strange people. Joe: If I could, I wouldn't marry her. Demi: You always have a choice *she shivered* Joe: Cold? Demi: A little. Joe put off his jacket and wrapped it around her shoulders. Demi: Thanks. Joe looked in her eyes and leaned in. Demi closed her eyes and waited for the kiss. A little kid came running and bumped into Joe. He pulled back and cleared his throat. Demi opened her eyes, disappointed. From her corner, Ashley shook in rage. She had followed them. She hated what she saw and heard.
~With Jemi~ They walked again. Demi: It wasn't that cold last night. Joe: It's because we entered an area with ice blocks. Demi: Ice blocks? Joe: Don't worry. The captain knows what he's doing. Demi: I hope so. If that doesn't bother you, I'm tired now. Joe: Like I said, I'm walking you to your cabin.
~The next day~ It was Sunday. People were busy praying in the church on board. Demi was looking for Joe or Aunt Molly because he forgot his jacket. ???: Hey, you. End of part 7
Part 8 Demi turned around. Ashley slapped her. Demi put a hand on her cheek. Ashley: That was for stealing my fiancé. Demi: I didn't. Ashley: And you won't. Stay away. Demi: You can't control him. Ashley: We'll see. Give me that *she grabbed the jacket* Demi: Enjoy your life. Ashley: I will. You really thought you could have him? Demi looked down. Ashley: You're not part of this world. He can always mess around with you, he'll marry me. Demi: You don't even know him. Ashley: Do I have to? *she left*
~Later~ Joe was looking for Demi. He hadn't seen her all day. He saw her silouhette not far from him. Joe: Demi? She walked away. Joe: Demi? *he chased after her* She stopped. Joe: Why are you running away from me? Demi: I'm not. I just don't want to see you right now. Joe: You could look at me when you say that. Demi turned around. Joe: *he saw her jaw* Who did that? Demi: No one. Joe caressed her cheek. Demi flinched. Joe: Tell me. Demi: It was Ashley. Joe: *angry* How dare she? Demi: She was right. Joe: What? Demi: I can't be with you. I'm nothing. You deserve better. Joe: Don't ever say that. Demi started to cry. Joe hugged her. Demi: Leave me. Joe: Don't count on it. Demi: *she looked up* Why? Joe: Isn't that obvious? *he kissed her* Demi kissed back deeply.
~After a while~ Joe: *he layed his forehead on hers* I don't want to go back in my cabin. Demi: Let's take a walk like we always do. Joe: We're taking the long way this time. They explored the ship and got lost a few times. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKsqL71kIl4 They get dressed and left. They found their way to the A deck. It was night. Joe: I don't care about my dad or Ashley but I need to tell Aunt Molly I'm fine. Demi didn't answer. She was looking right behind her. Joe: Demi? Demi: What is that? Joe looked too. It was a big shadow on the ocean. Demi: Ice block? Joe: It's bigger than that and we're heading at it. Demi: What?! They heard a bell. Members of the crew were running. Joe: They're taking care of it. It'll be fine. Demi took his hand and squeezed it. The ship moved slowly on the side. Too slowly. They felt a shock. End of part 8
Part 9 Demi: Oh my God. Joe: I can't believe we hit it. Demi: What's happening now? Joe: I guess they'll check if everything is fine. Demi: And what if it's not? Joe: They have lifeboats. Don't worry. Demi: Sorry. I've never been in a ship hit by an iceberg before. Joe: Me neither. Oh, here Mr Andrews. We can ask him. Demi: I suppose. Joe: Mr Andrews. Mr Andrews: Yes? Joe: We saw the iceberg. Mr Andrews: Oh, well... Joe: Are we in danger? Mr Andrews: It's too soon to tell. I need to meet up with the captain. Joe: I see. Mr Andrews: You should go back in your cabin. Joe: We will. Mr Andrews walked away. Joe: Let's go. Demi: What if Ashley is here? Joe: Screw her. Demi: I'd rather not. Joe smiled. They went in his cabin. Ashley: *she jumped off the couch* Where have you been? Joe: Out. Ashley: What is she doing here? Joe: She's with me and if you lay a finger on her ever again, you'll regret it. Aunt Molly: *she appeared in a dressing gown* I'm glad you're back. Joe's dad: We felt a shock. Joe: I'm not sure how bad it is but we hit an iceberg. Ashley/his aunt/his dad: What?! Joe: Nothing bad I hope. Joe's dad: Did you see the captain? Joe: No but I saw Mr Andrews. Joe's dad: What did he say? Joe: To stay in our cabins. Ashley: Good idea. Demi, why don't you go back in your rat hole? Joe: Ashley! Joe's dad: That's enough. Ashley, I don't allow anyone to be this disrespectful. Ashley stayed quiet. She knew he could cancel the wedding and it was the last thing she wanted. Demi: Maybe I should leave. Joe: No. Aunt Molly: Hun, you should stay here until we know what's going on. Joe's dad: I'm sure it's nothing. This ship is strong. Someone knocked on the door. Joe: I'll get that. It was a steward. Joe: Yes? Steward: By order of the captain, you need to put your safety jacket on. End of part 9
Part 10 Joe: Are we in danger? Steward: I don't think so, sir. Let me show you where you can find your jackets *he went in and opened a closet* Aunt Molly: We need one more jacket for Demi. Steward: I'm afraid I can't satisfy your request, Misses. There are as many jackets as people sleeping in this cabin. If you want more, she can go in her cabin. Joe: *to Demi* I'm giving you my jacket. Demi: No. Joe: You need it. Demi: You do too. Joe: You do more. Demi: Is this a way to tell me I'm weak? Joe: No. I'm just protecting you *he put the jacket on her and tied it* Steward: Let me help you. Ashley: I'm not putting that ugly thing on me! Steward: Miss, this is for your safety. Ashley: I'm safe on that ship. Joe's dad: We'll handle that. The steward left after telling them they had to go to the A deck. Ashley: I'm not wearing that stupid jacket. Joe's dad: I don't care if you do or don't. They went on the good deck. The crew was preparing the lifeboats. Aunt Molly: We're freezing in here. Joe's dad: Maybe we can wait inside. Joe: I have the feeling we have to stay here. They waited. Murdock: Everybody! They looked at him. Murdock: We need women and children first. Joe's dad: Molly, Ashley and Demi can go. Ashley: I'm first *she came closer* Murdock: Why aren't you wearing any safety jacket? Ashley: I can't wear anything ugly. Murdock rolled his eyes and helped her to climb in. He wouldn't be responsible if a stuck-up girl drown because of her stuborness. Aunt Molly was the next to climb. Joe: Your turn. Demi: I can't. Joe: Why? If you're scared, it'll be fine. Demi: I'm not scared. I just need my necklace. Joe: Your necklace? Demi: I know it sounds superficial but it came from my parents. It was around my neck when the nuns found me. Joe: Fine, we'll go get it. Demi: I'm going. You stay. We don't need to be two. Joe: But... Demi cut him with a kiss. He kissed back. Demi: I'll be back soon *she walked away* Joe was dazed. She got down the stairs until the third class alleyways. She let out a little scream when she saw water reaching her knees. This ship was sinking! She went to her cabin and opened the door. Things were floating on the water. She looked under the mastress she slept in and found her necklace. She put it around her neck and left. The water was so cold and it was now above her knees. She got to the upper deck but was stopped by the crowd gathered in front of the gate. It was locked. On the other side, a steward was telling them to check if everyone had a safety jacket and once they had done that, they would open the gate to let pass the women and children first. Demi knew is was an excuse. They needed time so the first class would have a chance to get in the boats. Not everyone would have this chance. The water was getting closer. Demi knew it as a fact. And the gate was closed with a jerk holding the keys... End of part 10
Part 11 ~Meanwhile~ Joe looked at the lifeboat getting down. Ashley and his aunt were in it. He was worried because Demi was not back yet. What if she was in danger? Joe: Dad, I need to go. Joe's dad: Where? Joe: Find Demi. Joe's dad: Make sure to find a boat afterwards. Joe: I will. He tried to find his way but it was hard. I never went in her cabin. He went down a stair and looked around. He saw a steward holding keys and a group of persons on the other side of the gate. ???: Joe! Joe saw Demi among the group. He came closer. Steward: Do you know her, sir? Joe: Yes and I want you to open that gate immediatly. Steward: I can't until we're sure that they all have their safety jackets, sir. Joe: Cut the crap. I ordered you to open that gate. Steward: Sir, you have to understand that... Joe: Understand this *he punched him* The steward fell down. Joe grabbed the keys and opened the gate. People ran. Demi: What's up with you and punching people? Joe: What's up with you and getting in trouble? Demi: You got a point. Joe: I'd like to talk but we need to go. Demi: I know. Water is coming up. Joe: Did you find your necklace? Demi: Yes. Joe: Let's go. They walked along an alleyway. Demi: Is this the good way? Joe: I'm not sure. The alleyways all look the same. The lights went off. Demi: *she grabbed his hand* Joe! Joe: I'm here. It looked scary and different in the dark. Joe: The lights will get back on. Or so he hoped. Demi: I'm feeling water. Joe: Me too. Water was licking their feet. They ran not knowing where they were going. They stopped when the lights came back. Demi: *out of breath* I have no idea where we are. Joe: Neither do I. Demi: This is bad. Joe: I'm sorry. Demi: For what? Joe: I was supposed to protect you and I failed. Demi: We're not dead. Joe: But we're not safe. Demi: As long as I'm with you, I'm fine. Joe smiled. Demi: I know I shouldn't but I love you. Joe: Why shouldn't you? Demi: Because you're almost a married man. Joe: Honestly, I can't care less about Ashley *he kissed her* End of part 11
Part 12 Demi kissed back. Joe: I love you. Demi blushed. Joe: When we're in New York, I'll marry you. Demi: You can't. Joe: I can if I want and I will. Now let's go. They walked again. Demi smiled of happiness. The only sad thing was she didn't know if they would survive. She looked down. Joe: We'll be fine. Demi: Why does it feel like I'm climbing? Joe: I think it's because the ship is going under water. The more water there is, the more it is sinking. Demi: Of course. I feel stupid. Joe: No, you're not. You just didn't know, that's all. Demi: Still, I'm barely educated. Joe: But you know life. Demi: I know a kind of life. Joe: It's fine. I know another kind of life. With both, we'll know life. Demi smiled. They arrived in the dinning room. Joe: I think it's the B deck or is it the C? Demi: First class dinning room is on the B deck. Joe: You know it better than me. Demi: I just noticed. They walked in. Demi: I can't believe all these beautiful things will be lost in the ocean. Joe: The Titanic was a dream. Now more than ever. Demi: There won't be two like that. Joe: Next time, no iceberg please. Demi: *she giggled* Oh this is so bad. I don't even know why I'm laughing. Joe: It's because you're nervous. Demi: I guess. Joe: Here the stairs. We'll access the A deck. Demi: Finally. They went up the stairs and then outside. The calm passengers they left had changed. They were now all panicking, running, screaming. Joe: Where are the lifeboats? Demi: All gone. Joe: Not, that's not possible. Demi: Look by yourself *she pointed at the ocean* Joe: I see them but there must be at least one left. Demi: Not on this side. Joe: Let's try the other. They went there with difficulty. People were not willing to cooperate. At a moment, Joe got accidently ran over by a few people. Demi: Joe! Joe: Ouch, I'm fine. Demi: *she helped him up* Your lip is bleeding. Joe: Almost nothing *he wiped it* They finally reached the other side. Demi: There are no boats here either. Joe: *he sighed* Better and better. Demi: We'll sink with the ship. Joe: Not sink. We'll find a way. Demi: Joe, I don't know if there's a way. Joe: Trust me. Demi: I do. I'm just scared. Joe: I understand. Demi: You don't even have a safety jacket. Joe: Doesn't matter. Demi: It will in the water. End of part 12
Part 13 Joe: We could find my father. I'm sure he's still on the ship. Demi: I guess. Joe: Knowing him, he would be inside drinking some hot whisky. Demi: Now? It's not the moment. Joe: It helps the courage. They went inside. Demi: Stewards are still working?! Joe: They know the situation is desperate. Demi: Lovely. Joe: Dad! He was sitting on a chair. Joe: Are you alright? Joe's dad: Yes but what are you still doing here? Joe: There's no more lifeboats. Joe's dad: Oh. I see you found Demi. Joe: Yes. Joe's dad: Joe, I want you to know that whatever you do or decide in your life, I'll be proud of you. Joe: It sounds like a goodbye. Joe's dad: It is. Joe: You can't! You need to fight. Joe's dad: I'm too old for that. I did my time. Joe: No! Joe's dad: I want you to take my jacket. Joe: I won't. Joe's dad: Here. Joe: No. Joe's dad: Take it! You're my heir. I'm just an old man. It's fair that you're the one who survives. Joe took the jacket. Joe's dad: *to Demi* Mak sure he put it on. Demi: I will, sir. Joe's dad: I also count on you to give him all your love. Demi: That won't be a problem. Joe and his dad shared a manly hug. Joe's dad: Be a man, my son. Joe nodded. Joe's dad: You two should go. Joe: *fighting his tears* Goodbye. Demi and him walked away. A tear rolled on Joe's cheek. Demi: *she wiped it* You should put your jacket. Joe nodded and did so. Demi: He loves you. Joe: I know. Demi: His sacrifice is very honorable. Joe smiled weakly. Demi: We need to do something. Joe: To survive? Agree. They went back on the deck. The situation was worse. About half of the ship was under water. Demi: What should we do? They heard a kind of whistling sound. They looked in the direction of the noise. Their eyes widened when they saw one of the chimneys falling. Demi: Oh my god... Joe: All is falling apart. We should move. Demi followed him. End of part 13
Part 14 Demi: There's not much we can do. Joe: We need to stay on the ship as much as we can. The water is freezing. Demi nodded. They heard a cracking sound. She lost her balance. Joe partially caught her. Demi: What's happening???? Joe: The ship is breaking! Demi: Help me! Joe tried to pull her up. The ship finished to break in two. Demi got violently pulled and fell on Joe. They didn't have time to breath that the ship raised up again because a part was still linked to the sunk one. Joe quickly wrapped an arm around Demi's waist and with the othr he grabbed tightly a pole so they wouldn't fall. Demi: I'm scared. Joe: I can't tell it'll be alright. Demi hid her face in his chest. Joe: When we're in the water, we stay together. Demi: I won't let go of you. The ship went completely under water. Cold, very cold. They felt like dying. Joe: We need to swim. They swam away from the huge screaming crowd of people. Joe: They-they'll send b-boats. Demi: W-when? Joe: I-I d-don't k-know. The situation was bad. Demi: L-look t-there's a b-boat h-here. Joe looked thinking rescue was coming to them. Instead it was an abandoned lifeboat. They swam to it. Joe helped her to climb in. Demi did the same for him. He grabbed the rowing. Demi: Let me row too. Joe: No, I'll be fine. Just rest. Demi: What happened? I mean why is this boat abandoned? Joe: *lying* I don't know. He didn't want to tell her that the persons probably had trouble and were now in the water. He rowed away. Demi: We need to help them. Joe: I know. On their way, they took the most people they could without turning the boat upside down. They joined the group of lifeboats. They rowed till dawn and met the Carpathia.
~On the Carpathia~ Joe and Demi were cuddling under a blanket. Coffee was comforting them. ???: Here they are! Joe looked up. It was his aunt followed by Ashley. Aunt Molly: I'm glad you survived *she hugged Jemi* Ashley: *she looked at Demi* She survived. Joe: Is it bothering you? Ashley: Yes. If you still want to marry me, I don't want her around you. Joe: *he smiled* It is settled then. I don't want to marry you or see your face ever again. Ashley glared at him and left. Aunt Molly: I'm sorry that your father, my brother, didn't make it. Joe: I am sorry too. He won't see my wedding. Demi: What wedding? Joe: I'm marrying you. Demi: You were serious? Joe: Of course I was *he kissed her* Aunt Molly smiled. THE END
